Muggles and Wizards and Deserving Kids

A couple months ago I finished a set of Harry Potter inspired outfits for a special family’s special trip to Orlando. I truly loved working on these and couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! I loved reading the Harry Potter books and I can’t wait until my boys are a little older and ready to read them too!

The middle kid got this bowling shirt, which I tried to make look like a house scarf. The placket and the collar are pieced from two different fabrics for the striped look. I used the same dark red fabric for all three outfits, which has swirls and stars and a “magical” vibe.

The oldest sister got this dress, also with the pieced straps and sash. The dress has a total of 3 appliqués, one of Harry, Ron and Hermione.

The littlest guy got this little romper to match his older siblings. (It is reversible with Mickey on the other side.)

And finally, though I did not have a better photo, I made shirts for the parents to wear too. They are going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so why shouldn’t they join in the fun?

I hope they have a wonderful trip. I loved making these outfits, and love how they turned out.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas?

Custom Christmas Pajamas by Just Joshin

I am taking preorders for Christmas Pajamas in the month of June. I realize it is just finally summer and some of us had snow less than two weeks ago. (Mother Nature clearly lost her mind!) I intend to enjoy this summer and warm weather, right after I plan what my kids will be wearing on Christmas morning. I offered these pajamas last year and got great feedback from customers. They are thick, soft, and so adorable! My boys enjoyed wearing them to the Santa train, a party at school and many many nights since Christmas. They are so cute in Christmas morning pictures, too! In addition to the kid’s PJs offered last year, sizes 6M to 12Y, they have added Adult sizes, Doll PJs, and Infant gowns for size 0-3M. Colors are Red/White, Green/White and Red/Green. Adult PJs are only available in the Red/Green combo. (Please see sizing charts below for both kids and adult sizing.)

Gifts for Babies

My “babies” are regular kids now, notsomuch babies anymore, but I am lucky to have a close friend with a new little guy, so I *may* have gone overboard with baby sewing. It’s just so cute! I whipped up one more Book-inspired sewing project for the little guy, a Romper for the summertime based on old favorite, The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. It’s reversible, and oh, so cute.

The Scientific Seamstress

I have done a couple other recent baby projects, these reversible Poofy Pants with matching onesies turned out too cute! These make great baby gifts are are designed to have a little extra room in the backside to accommodate cloth diaper bulk, something I wish I’d had when my babies were babies with fluffy cloth diapered backsides!
