Some news about the annual May the 4th mini quilt swap: there won’t be one this year. I’m as sad as this little Porg because I love this swap and it’s a been a highlight of the past 3 years but I also know how much work goes into making it an awesome swap every year and I don’t have the time and energy to do it right. I’m in the midst of packing up my sewing room to list our house for sale, contemplating a cross-country move and dealing with family stuff and I don’t think should take on something else. Especially something that has meant so much to me and so many others, I think it deserves a better effort than I can give right now. Anyone working on a #projectofdoom this year? Free to a good home, (you pay shipping) almost a pound of Harry Potter-ish scraps left from my own #harypotterquilt last year. Some licensed stuff like marauders map, a few grunge stripes I’ve already sewn into house color scarf motif, jellybeans for the Bertie bots, galaxy and plants and creepy and magical swirly goodness. Use what you can and share what you have left. If you want to get an idea of what I used check out #jjpod18 If I find more scraps while I’m cleaning I’ll add to it. Flat rate padded envelope so US shipping should be $7.25.

Edit to add: all the blocks are claimed. Who wants FREE novelty squares for ispy quilts and Polaroid blocks? I could live to be 1000 and never make enough ispy quilts to use all these. I organized dthem by size and divided the really big stacks into two. I’m just asking you to pay postage via PayPal. (They should all be small enough for 1st class, $3-5 US domestic. International ok for actual postage price.) Leave a comment which you’d like. Please only take one so we can spread the love. There’s a lot of variety in there, some were from swaps, scraps, gifts. If you sent me something I promise you it’s not you, it’s me. I have 100s of already made polaroids and I’ve only ever made one ispy quilt. 1. Dr Seuss bundle: lots of 2.5”,3”,4”,5” squares all from assorted dr Seuss fabrics. 2. TWO sets available of 4” ispy squares. I randomly split the much larger stack. 3. TWO sets available of 2.5” fussy cuts for Polaroid blocks or hexies 4. One set 6.5” blocks, there are duplicates of most. 5. 3.5” ispy blocks assorted. All the stacks may have some duplicates and some is quilt shop quality and some isn’t. I won’t be able to start for awhile but I have the perfect fabrics for the #QPpatternclub from @quietplay — I’ve been collecting text fabrics for years knowing someday I’d have the perfect project. Those beauties plus the @tulapink True Colors FQ bundle will be a perfect rainbow/texty/low volume extravaganza. But first, I am not starting anything new until I finish some old stuff that is in process. I’m not particularly artistic but I stuffed my own stocking with some fun pens and decided this is the year I’ll finally try to jump into the #bulletjournal thing. Organization isn’t a thing in my brain so maybe it will help to have a place to write down stuff? I started of course, with my book club schedules. My #2018bestnine — Apparently I didn’t finish many quilts since two are featured twice and 3 posts are from #maythe4thmqs3, two I made and one received. To be fair though, the two quilts I did finish are pretty awesome if I do say so myself. And my crafty upgrade to my kids’ school #littlefreelibrary made the top posts. It makes me so happy every time I see it when I pick them up at school.
