Day 20/30, block 23: Honeydukes candy jar. I had fun with this one. I had a little of the Very Hungry Caterpillar dots which I think is perfect candy. Day 19, block 22: More eyeball potion and a few more books. I was concerned about the black potion on black background so I outlined it with a thin extra line of grey. (The eyes glow in the dark!) Day 17/30, block 20: I’m not 100 percent in love with this one, but it’s done. My one reservation with the black background was Harry’s glasses getting lost so I tried to put them in front of a book. I used the #talltalesblock and made it a bit taller and wider, which I think works ok but the angle of the glasses isn’t the right perspective. At least they’re not lost in the background I guess. The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn. This month’s book club pick kept my interest from the first chapter. Anna lives alone, confined to her home in New York with crippling agoraphobia and anxiety where she fills her days and nights drinking too much wine mixed with powerful psychotropic drugs, watching old black and white movies and spying on her neighbors though a high-powered lens on her camera. When she starts watching the newest neighbors on the street, she sees something through the window that kicks off a chain of events that leaves her questioning her neighbors and her safety and she can’t even trust her own mind when everything that happens is refuted by everyone around her. I couldn’t put this one down until I knew how it ended. There were so many layers to the story and the unreliability of Anna as the narrator showed a fallible complexity to the human mind that makes you wonder what’s real. 5/5 stars ⭐️ #18readingchallenge #justjoshinreads #2018readingchallenge #goodreads #readersofinstagram #readersofig #booksofinstagram
