I’m trying to cram in some sewing in the last two weeks before my kids are home for the summer. These will all be Bags to restock my Etsy shop. Lots of adorable fun prints for summer! Another one down. The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt. I added this to my list after a friend shared an article about how bad some “classic” books are and what to read instead. And of course now I can’t find the article to remind me what this one was supposed to replace. It was a decent read, good descriptions, period details (gold rush era California) and interesting characters. A bit gruesome in some places, but the main characters are a duo of hit men for hire, one of whom toes the line of sociopath. It was a compelling story and I enjoyed it, and the ending was super open and vague like it was inviting a sequel. It was so hard to keep this one secret. We had a little snafu with the #maythe4thmqs3 swap so I made an extra package. When I saw @goodlaffgirl’s inspiration I knew I had to mash up Hamilton and Star Wars. Add in #modagrunge and this was super hard to send off.
